Squamish Nation Pow Wow 2011 GRAND ENTRY, Capilano Indian Reserve North Vancouver

Form July 8-10, 2011, native Indians from BC and elsewhere congregated at the Squamish Nation Pow Wow 2011 at the Capilano Indian Reserve in North Vancouver. They come to meet and greet each other to celebrate their culture together at this annual event. Aboriginal men and women in full regalia came out to dance in the Grand Entry and Invocation and later compete in individual competitions. The Squamish Nation of BC is one of the Four Host First Nations that was a very important partner of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The Squamish Nation Pow Wow 2011 attracted thousands of aboriginals and non-natives alike to take part in the event.
