Nervously, he goes up on stage and speaks to her from the shadows. He tells her not to be afraid. He has heard her sing and her voice is like an angel's. But... it needs training. He offers to train her; he says he is in fact a singer of some renown but he has never given lessons before. If she accepts he tutelage, he will have to wear a mask so that he can remain anonymous. Otherwise, others might want lessons, too. The Music Lessons commence immediately.
In between lessons, the Phantom sets out to destroy Carlotta's career. "The opera's been invaded by a Phantom"! shots Cholet, and The Phantom Fugue begins, as does a hunt (in vain) for the Phantom.

I like Phantom better than Webbers...I mean, the music is more spectacular in Webber's version, and its more visually spectacular....but, meh, the story's better in Yeston's verstion. Webber was a good songwriter, but...the story wasn't as well-delivered.

My school's been invaded too!!!!! Band is doing Phantom of the Opera (ALW), highschool chorus is doing it as well (Ugh this is why i hate being in 8th grade), i'll be singing "My True Love" for the talent show from Phantom (NON ALW), and some highschooler's gonna sing 'Wishing you were somehow here again' (WTF! PotO's my thing and everyone is stealing it from me... I'mma punjab 'em all
