A damaging squall line developed in western Illinois and raced to the east, causing sporadic damage to trees and powerlines. Several trees were damaged and power lines blown down in the area, along with a tornado reported between Cabery and Kempton. This storm had several similar characteristics as the Fathers day storm earlier in the year, and was a scare of what could have been another major event. Fortunately, only 65 mph winds and small hail, with plenty of rain accompanied the storm.
