What do you do when you want a 600,000 dollar airplane, but can't afford to own one all by yourself? You buy a fraction of one, that's what you do! Skyshares (http://www.myskyshares.com ) shows you their hangar, their beautiful Cirrus SR22 Turbo, and a flight around the pattern. • Hello... I don't know the model, but it's just as bad as the one you're talking about... It's slow and doesn't have neutral or a brake, so it's not ideal.

  • What airport is this??

  • nice vid, just don't add cheap music from garageband nextime

  • @marick626 There are a lot more costs associated to flying than just the cost of the aircraft. Operating costs on a twin commander are ten times that of a single engine piston SR22. Hell, you can even pick up an L39 for $250,000. However, that is an expensive bird to fly.

Well, comparing a 414 to a twin commander is like comparing a ferrari to a Honda. The twin commander is rugged and relatively low cost for a twin just like a Honda, but just like a Honda it isn't the fastest or most luxurious thing on the block. A 414 is fast, pressurized and more comfortable than a twin commander for sure, but just like a Ferrari, something breaks, and you are searching deep inside your pockets. They both have their own missions but they are both a better choice.

  • @marick626 $600,000? Maybe a used one. They are over $700,000 fully loaded brand new. I do agree with you completely that its too much for a piston single. I like your Twin Commander idea. I was thinking more along the lines of a Cessna 414 with a RAM conversion and Garmin Avionics. You would have so much more utility, speed, and comfort than any piston single. Maintenance is outrageous though! The 414 I fly just cost $20,000 to do the annual.

The glass panel is nice, however, having several hours on the garmin system, I can honestly say it is not worth the extra premium you pay for the Cirrus. $600,000 is outrageous to pay for a piston single, it just is.

Have you flown in one? Do you know any owners? Which Malibu are you talking about? the meridian, mirage or the matrix? they are all very different to one another. I can personally only talk about the meridian and can say that it is by far the most "basic" retractable gear, single engine turboprop on the market. It flies like a dream, but it does not compare to the speed of a TBM or the ruggedness and overall performance of a PC12. However, it is the cheapest. Just my .02.
