Thomas Eisner (1929 - 2011) was a brilliant American entomologist, known as the "father of chemical ecology." A Professor at Cornell University, he was a world authority on animal behavior, defense mechanisms, ecology, and evolution. He was also an outstanding natural history photographer. Sadly, he died of Parkinson's Disease in March 2011. From the BBC TV series 'Seven Wonders of the World' (1995)
