@walnutridgefarms its good to see a farmer that knows what he's doing we had a disk like this but it was a 16' bwa we pulled it with a 4020 jd after we plowed all our fields now we just use a offset disk a taylor-way its 8ft offset it would do better that this disk but you would need about a 80hp tractor to pull it great video i will have a tractor soon we sold our tractors when there was no money in farming then we started building houses theres no money in that now so we will start farming lol

nice 70 my dads cousin has one and it dosent run and he wont sell it but all it needs is a carb rebuild and a new flywheel but yesterday i drove my niehbors 60 in 6th gear down the lane and holy shit it hauls ass!

I agree, your 70 sounds great! I might suggest videotaping yourself pulling a plow with it, it'd REALLY sound good then. :) Keep up the good work! I love to hear those old John Deere's run. I used to a 1951 Model G, but sold it, it was hard on gas. But it was a puller though. LOL

I forgot to ask........do the John Deere 70's have the new style transmission, or straight 6speed? Or do they have the old style, with the high/low range lever? I've never noticed, but I do know that the 70 replaced the G and the Model G had the high/low range and it would fly out on the road in 6th gear.

It has the high/low range shift pattern, and yep, 6th is pretty quick, it's only been used a few times when I've been out on the road. Yesterday I was out with the 70 hauling the round bales in, didn't get a video of it though.

Good sounding 70. Looks like you are running in 3d or 4th gear. I have had two old 70 gas tractors and have worked them in the field. They sure do like their fuel! I plan on doing a plowing video in the spring with my 730 gas. Keep up the good work!

It was probably either 2nd or 3rd gear, I don't think I ever moved it up to 4th. I agree on the gas, she is a thirsty girl! The 50 doesn't use nearly as much, but then it's not pulling the disk either.
