Thank you ~Illchangeitlater
In fact, I just bought 2 packages of Chinese lantern seeds. Can't wait to get started!

@OneArmBear The tangerine orange one is not the chinese lantern , that is the Wonderberry/Goldenberry/Capego
oseberry/Groundcherry (physalis peruviana), it has allot of names! Super good for your health!!! Try one. -
@sajeevan1 You can eat them, but they are a bit more tart than physalis peruviana, so maybe a jelly or jam would be better. You can plant them in the garden, but I would prefer a pot because it can take over!

@bayer54 Yes they can!!! I live in Holland (cold and wet) And if it can grow here, it can grow in California too! ;)
-
You know you can eat them right?? They're not as sweet as their cousin, the physalis peruviana, a bit more tart, but that can make really good jelly! Beautiful video!!!
-
Where do you live? Can i grow this in Northern California? They are beautiful! I want to grow them to make a wreath!! Thanks!

@epkt are they edible and when can i plant it straight out ito my garder would it be throught every year?

Apologies for the lack of response! I haven't visited this page for a long time.
I found that if you leave the lantern on dry soil to rot, then at some stage, it will achieve the transparent-like effect. I assume that if you leave it there longer, it will completely rot.

我將它風乾已經兩年,由原來的鮮橙色變成淡啡色,但是並沒有變成透明網膜可以看到裡面的種子,請問你是否將它加工過?

I didn't do anything to them. They changed themselves in the garden. I photographed them under the evening sunlight, which turned out to be much better than I envisaged.

This is my first time to have a close up view of the Chinese Lantern. It's quite amazing. Alexander's guitar background music is also beautiful. Thanks for sharing your gardening hard work with us.

Alexander played his important part, but credit of the music should mainly go to Tim Whitnell, Alexander's guitar teacher.
