well it cant be a alternator because that just recharges the battery and has little to do with starting the car.

the car doesnt suck its probably starter and or maybe an alternator but that problem he is having is probably a crankshaft position sensor my 95 Nissan maxima is having the same problem, and the Nissan maxima does not suck they are one of the nicest and better running cars out there but they are quality cars
