R.I.P. Jimmy -- July 1, 1948 - April 26, 2011. You were a master craftsman, luthier, and musician, and a wonderful human being to know. You are missed by all who knew and loved you, and by so many who knew of you and loved the beautiful sounds of the archtop guitar. Thank you for all the love you passed our way. Take your place with the angels on high!

can i just say.... that i hate when people misuse a band saw... the guard is there for your protection.... you should have it no more than 1/2 inch from the top of whatever you're cutting.... not 4 inches above it so that it doesn't get in your way

This video has nothing to do with luthiery it shows some factory joinery and carpentry :p

Some of us are born talented, some of us are born useful, Jimmy Foster is really a remarkable man, and all of us who love the quality and look of these wonderful instruments owe him a lasting debt of graitude whether or not we will ever own or play one.
