@GenevaPilgrim LOL.....SO TRUE!!!!
TOO LATE, I've done been kicked out! My last pastor told his congregation that he didn't want me to come back! I didn't want to go back to that dead dive anyhow! They only hooped and hollered with the CCM and rocky music while I just sat there in the pew. I shouted with the old hymns while they just sat in their pews. It just wasn't a good working relationship!

@holinesspentecostal a sermon on "Love not the World"? Hush your mouth-you are really looking to get excommunicated aren't you? Everyone in the "Christian-KNOW" knows you can't save the world with a convicting message. We are going to love them into heaven! Or feed them into heaven or clothe them into heaven. We've got every "drive" imaginable going at my church except the one that counts-you know, the drive to repent and be saved.

@GenevaPilgrim I have been getting a real big laugh out of your comment. You hit the nail on the head so elequently! I realize that I should be crying, but the truth of what you wrote has just struck me strangly funny. You are absolutely right about preachers only preaching LOVE! We hear it till it runs out our noses! How about a "love" sermon on "LOVE NOT THE WORLD"! There's a good solid "love" sermon we don't hear anymore!

We still sing that old song! There's nothing like this old fashioned WAY! Hallelujah! Glory to God!

If we could just have a old fashion meeting again....

Thanks bro Tim, "Times they are a-changin;"

I like the old fashion ways. I wish they were that way right now.
Hmmm....We sang "Just as I Am" back in the 80's. Now, we just never have altar calls. Weird how times change.
Of course, I never attributed as much to the singing during the altar call as I did to the Holy Sprit prompting us to go forward, but I guess the Holy Spirit just doesn't want my pastor to have altar calls anymore. I mean, after a good solid sermon on love-who needs an altar call. I love already, right?

Thanks, it seems the Holy Spirit is not welcome in very many churches today.
