Round #2, I guess - but it was hard to score. Could easily have gone the other way, but that's how I usually score it: Round #1 was Hazegawa's, and round #2 was even, so I gave it to Montiel by a hair, because it was an even fight.
I saw from the official scorecards that two of the three judges had it 29-28 to Hazegawa, so maybe they were thinking the same.

@ApeDeng What round/rounds did you think Montiel won of the first 3? Yeah, a rematch would be great but it will not happen. Hazegawa is WBC featherweight champ now and Montiel will try to get a fight with Nonito Donaire.

I just saw that fight, and I wouldn't say that Hasegawa won every round, exactly. He certainly did hang in there and fought a close, competitive fight, but Montiel just looked stronger and sharper all the way.
That said, I do NOT think that Montiel could pull off another early KO against Hasegawa: Hozumi just got caught flush, and that can happen to the best of fighters. Still, I'm pretty sure Montiel is the better fighter between the two.
I would love to see a rematch.

@ApeDeng I wrote that comment 2 years ago, before he got koed by montiel. But Hazegawa is still the best Bantamweight. He won every round in the Montiel fight up till the knock out. Hazegawa beats Montiel 8 times out of 10. But not that night, oviously.

I really hate concept "USA" is the center of big match, which profit their economy and enable to make even more big match. Then, they will spoil the sports of the country, caseu all stay player want to play in USA. Hasegawa can do big match in Japan, why not?

This is a much better representation of Hasegawa's skill set than his recent 1st-round KO's. His jab could have a little more sting, but he still uses it effectively.
Smooth footwork, combinations to head AND body, and elusive upper-body movement. I like him - hopefully he'll show up on American TV sometime
