Johannes Brahms wrote "Sonatensatz" for the F-A-E collaborative Sonata as tribute to the violinist Joseph Joachim. And the rest of this four-movement work for violin and piano were composed by Robert Schumann and Albert Dietrich. The name of the sonata delivers from the Joachim's motto, Frei, aber einsam (Free, but alone),
Akiko Ishikawa (violin) and Theodor Iosifidis (piano) perform at Peacock Room, Trinity College of Music, London, on 9th June 2009. Akiko plays a violin made by Otto Erdesz, on loan from Micha Eden Erdesz.
