Gana Perera who passed away peacefully at his home in Sri Lanka on 2nd October 2009.
Gana was the founder of Lassana Publishers based in Sri Lanka.
He served his life as a teacher after graduating from Peradeniya University in Kandy, Sri Lanka and started his career in the early nineteen sixtees when he authored many art and history books. Although starting out as a journalist he became an author of books aimed at pre-school learning and during the late sixtees he taught at various leading Sri Lankan schools.
Becoming recognised as a writer he then went on to work at Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) as a Area Manager before starting Lassana Publishing where he wrote and printed over 50 books in art and history amongst over 500 books his leading Sri Lankan company published.
