It is truly startling that these camps are still in existence for tourist purposes, yet they act as a reminder of just how uncivilised humanity was back then, and how easily it could become once more through a dictatorship. The masterminds that constructed these despicable ugly camps must surely have been tormented by them even after the war? I would be very keen to hear about how surviving SS officers feel about a revisit!

the exagerated stories are such a turn away to even go to visit.
I have to mute it out. I wish I could go alone and no one but wwII germans to give me the tour. this place needs to be re-opened for today actually.

I'm sorry to have to say this to you but your introduction - the partying, drinking etc was extremely inappropriate leading into the auschwitz video. I have been there, twice, it is a solemn and tragic indictment of humanity.
