Track 5 of Ozzy's debut album, Blizzard of Ozz
---
Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker
Suicide is slow with liqueur
Take a bottle, drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows
Away tomorrows

Evil thoughts and evil doings
Cold, alone you hang in ruins
Thought that you'd escape the reaper
You can't escape the master keeper

'Cos you feel life's unreal, and you're living a lie
Such a shame, who's to blame, and you're wondering why
Then you ask from your cask, is there life after birth
What you saw can mean hell on this earth
Hell on this earth

Now you live inside a bottle
The reaper's travelling at full throttle
It's catching you, but you don't see
The reaper's you, and the reaper is me

Breaking laws, knocking doors
But there's no one at home
Made your bed, rest your head
But you lie there and moan
Where to hide, suicide is the only way out
Don't you know what it's really about

Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker
Suicide is slow with liqueur
Take a bottle, drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows

  • If someone takes Ozzy Osbourne seriously enough to kill themselves over his music, don't you think they'd be intelligent enough to research the meaning of the song -- the dangers of drinking too much.

The kid's parents were idiots. The album he had playing was Speak of the Devil, which doesn't even contain Suicide Solution, yet they claimed that's the track he killed himself over.

    Consistency...where is it, people?

  • CANT BELIEVE IM STILL ALIVE AFTER LISTENING TO THIS

  • @TheAngryIntellectual agreed....if u r week enuff 2 u r a fool...this song is about being addicted 2 booze

  • Aw crap, I clicked on this and now I have to kill myself. Wish the song was longer so I could at least put together a will or something.

  • Wow! i just listened to this song and i didnt kill myself! i guess people do have their own freewill. Color me surprised!!

  • the best ozzy ; blizzard+ diary

  • Wine is fine, but Vodka's quicker!

  • OK so people still think this song promotes the use of alcohol... Wow? I guess that explains a lot of things. There are warning labels on the backs of all over the counter medications... I guess some people might see them as directions on how to kill themselves, but most people understand the true meaning of the warning label.

If my kid blew his head off with a gun, I would not have the chance to blame anyone, because my poor democratic ass would be in jail.

  • Get the glass out!
