The Church of Scientology makes outrageous claims of medical healing in "Dianetics" and other marketing materials.

Cancer, blindness, polio, mental retardation: where doctors fail, these and other conditions can routinely be vanquished by Scientology, says the church.

But when members die from lack of medical care, spokesperson Tommy Davis appears to write a new chapter in Scientology's Science Fiction.

  • Mr miscavidge, I was diagnosed with asthma in my late forties, I was rushed to hospital on 3 separate occasions and given emergency treatment which I think saved my life, after loads of tests I was prescribed a drug known as a preventer and since that time I have not had an attack and my doctors say it is because of the drug they prescribed. On an aside it is a well known fact that kids who are asthmatic in their younger years can outgrow their asthma completely, and people as myself were older.
