Booting a Arch Linux client (512MB Ram) within a WinXP host. The host is an Q6600 running at 3.2Ghz, with 2 GB RAM. The VDI is stored on an external 2.5" USB-disk which is limited at 25MB/s with a slow access time so there's still a lot of improvement.

The Kernel is the stock 2.6.29.4-1 kernel which is the most recent at the moment. The fast boot speed is caused by Qinit (quick init), an effecient rewrite of the default init without compromising features or stability (at least, in lesser form compared to Finit, (fast init)).
I had some problems caused by HAL but i resolved that problem (HAL was loaded twice on boot, as a Daemon, and by Qinit itself).
