After chanting "BNP BNP BNP", stamping on a defenceless copper, vandalising cars and shops and calling police "Paki loving bastards" in Stoke, the EDL "marched" in Edinburgh on 20 Feb 2010 - from the bar of Jenny Ha's pub to the gents toilet, to the window (to make rude gestures at photographers outside), back to the bar, back to the gents, before being individually photographed and bundled out of Edinburgh by the police...

After the EDL predicted they'd draw 3,000 supporters in Edinburgh, The Daily Record reported that just 80 EDL supporters were opposed by 2,000 Anti-Fascists (1), The Scotsman said only 40 EDL showed-up (2), and The Sunday Herald confirmed the EDL were "humiliated" (3). Edinburgh Anti-Fascists leafletted all over town, organised networks of spotters to locate the EDL, and prevented the EDL from attacking or intimidating Edinburgh residents - doing a great job of getting younger, more militant protesters to blockade the EDL; while Scotland United provided an invaluable space for more middle-aged and churchy types to protest. Both approaches are vital to successful Anti-Fascism.

I am totally opposed to extremist Islam, but if anyone wants to know what the EDL really stand for, EDL founder Paul Ray publicly supports the sectarian murderer Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair (4) and supports EDL members who attacked Asians in Luton (5), and the Sunday Herald reported a BNP member admitting EDL's Scottish support comes almost entirely from BNP members (6) - which is all the more ironic seeing how BNP chairman Nick Griffin supported the regime responsible for the terrorist atrocity at Lockerbie (7).
