This is a brief video showing that public health is everywhere and here are some simple things that we can do in our daily lives to help improve public health. By contributing to public health through individual actions, we are able to see that "you are only as healthy as the world you live in."

  • i've heard this CFL bulb has mercury

  • Yes, that is true. But the light bulb is put in our video to demonstrate how cfls can be used

to conserve energy. The small amounts of the neurotoxin mercury is bad; however, with proper recycling practices, the benefits outweigh the consequences. Cfls help combat concerns like global warming. It is also important to note cfls are much better alternatives in comparison to regular incandescent light bulbs which contain substantial more mercury.

  • Good work

not sure about that, light bulbs have burst before when they burn out...and you didn't need a biohazard team to clean it.

point is your life wasn't in danger when your old lightbulbs burned out.

  • Well, this is nice to try and draw attention to public health, but this video hardly shows the tip of the tip of the iceberg. I know it would be impossible to show every concept of public health, but saving energy and protecting nature is not the main point. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate the effort involved in the vid or the idea behind it; it's just my personal opinion.

  • only if it breaks, otherwise it doesn't leak? i recently replaced all bulbs in my home with these cfl. so far no impact on my electric bill at all.

i'm more concerned about cfl and it's impact on my eyes, not environment.
