I think i'm a bit late at leaving a comment but the truth is this scene was actually filmed at location in which the ship was not moving the waves were later added for effect, boats can indeed go in reverse but at this size I believe they cannot move faster than a few knots. I am a reliable source as I worked on the show and I can certainly tell you this was not an error, the effects were added on the opposite end because shooting the proper end of the boat would mean capturing the port aswell.

no. this ship has a bridge with 360 degree view, it is not going astern, the "stern section" you mentioned is actually the forecastle and the waves are breaking over it which means it is heading in that direction, plus, the stern section of the ship most likely wouldnt be as streamlined as that. The ship seems to be going fast as the camera is moving backwards and the ship is heading forwards into a fast tide. digital effects dude has done nothing wrong, now do something useful with your time.

@holaalexiafriz No its not. The wave is breaking at the far end of the ship. It is moving away from the coast.

@Wegaskiller anyway, is a mistake, they are scaping, but the ship is sailing to the coast..

Fake and gay
IT IS NOT A MISTAKE
Ships "can" go backwards.
A ship docks with it's head to the dock, right?
How do you expect the ship to move back to the ocean without going backwards?
It goes backwards a bit, and then turns, and goes forward.
BUT to turn, it must be away from the dock.
It is not going fast, the camera is going back at the same time, that's why you think it's too fast.
