Hollywood. Air bag systems have speed sensors; they don't deploy when a vehicle is standing still unless one tampers with the wires.
I'm sure, however, that Ford would have offered the family $500,000 to "keep them quiet". GM and Chrysler would have processed the recall like it was simple day-to-day form work...

So, tell me. How does Kat's death from Death's list in the movie Final Destination 2 make Ford airbags any more dangerous than other air bags in reality?
That character was *meant* to die, and Death organised things so she *could* die to satisfy His list. Does that mean police cars are more dangerous than other cars, simply because a massive log goes through it at the start of the movie, killing the lone occupant?
