Plot
12-year-old Oskar is a fragile boy living in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg, in the year 1982. He is regularly bullied by his classmates during the day and, while he never strikes back, he spends the nights dreaming of revenge, rehearsing knife attacks outside his apartment complex. There he meets and befriends Eli, who has recently moved in next door to Oskar with an older man, H?kan. Eli, who appears to be a 12-year-old girl, is pale, only comes out at night, and does not seem affected by the freezing temperatures.

Coinciding with Eli's arrival is a series of murders, disappearances and attacks. Victims are found with broken necks and drained of blood. Oskar fills a notebook with stories of the killings and realises that Eli is a vampire. Oskar and Eli nevertheless form a deep friendship. Eli persuades Oskar to fight back against those bullying him and he seriously injures one of them.

H?kan, who has the task of finding blood for Eli, starts to make mistakes and local residents become suspicious. Fearing he will be recognised, H?kan disfigures his face with acid and is hospitalised. Eli visits him later in the night, drinks his blood and kills him at his request. One of the local residents attempts to kill Eli, but is interrupted by Oskar. In the face of these difficulties, Eli decides to move away.

Oskar is later on attacked in revenge for injuring one of his bullies. He is nearly drowned but Eli comes back to save him, brutally killing the bullies. The film ends with Oskar, on a train, tapping the word "kiss" in Morse code on the outside of a coffin-sized box, with Eli (unseen) inside tapping back.

Seriously look at what the other links are to the side of this video. Do you really think that people who go to watch those videos would be interested in this movie? This movie is not for brainless idiots. This is a SWEDISH film not German as some blodclots in the cinema thought it was. The woman at the end is a stupid woman.

They obviously don't get the point that while this may be one of the darkest vampire films ever made, it is essentially a love story. Yes there is blood, a lot of it, but it perfectly punctuates the beauty of the storyline. Complete morons, how about watch the movie before you review it.
