This recording, from the CD 'Agnus Dei' is composed by John Tavener. This song is based on the poem by William Blake. The lyrics are as follows:

Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?
Gave thee life, and bid thee feed
By the stream and o'er the mead;

Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing, woolly, bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice?

Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee;

He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb.
He is meek, and he is mild.
He became a little child.

I, a child, and thou a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little lamb, God bless thee!
Little lamb, God bless thee!

  • @unsplintered you preach t the Choir. No one ever said that people were ignoring Him. Jesus likes His mom better than any son ever liked His mom. Why do you suppose he commanded us to honor our mom and dad. Do you think he doesn't set the example? Anyway He likes us to do homage to His mom.

  • is this Hebrew nice :)

  • @8marioch MHFM is a highly heretical organization and can be unreasonable, hysterical, ignorant of Canon Law, the development of the Liturgy over centuries, and the Papacy. This is coming from a very traditional Catholic of the Latin Rite. It goes beyond issues facing the Church today regarding Sacred Tradition to identifying with a schismatic, dangerous, and unstable group like "the monastery." It's a shame that CatholicPeter allowed your comment to be posted, and I bet he won't allow this one.

  • such a beautiful song! the virgin mary has done so much for us and her son Jesus Christ.

  • @unsplintered ...transmitted their authority on to others to teach accurately the truth they had received from the Apostles (Acts 1:20, Titus 2:15, 1st Timothy 3:15, 4:14-16, 5:17-22, 6:2-3, 2nd Timothy 1:13-14, 2:1-2, 4:2-4). Those men preached Catholic Teaching. Clement of Rome taught faith and works were necessary for salvation in the AD 80's, Bishops Ignatius and Polycarp taught the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist in AD 100, and so on. There is more evidence, look into it.

  • @unsplintered Jesus is Almighty God, He became man and came to you through His Mother, Mary, and no other woman (Gal. 4:4). You would never know about Him if God had not established Peter and the other Eleven (Matt. 10:2-4) Apostles to spread His Teachings in His authority (Luke 10:16), Baptise (Matt. 28:18-30), Forgive Sin (John 20:21-23) and offer the Eucharist (Luke 22:19-20), who, along with Christ the Cornerstone, we are established on as on a foundation (Eph. 2:20), and who...

  • what do the words say? ya know, we have free access to the father thru Jesus, not thru Mary, nor Peter nor any man woman nor child, Jesus is the WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE," HE WHO HAS SEEN THE ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER,"

  • so beautiful

  • @booboowilson10101

    Its how they sacrificed lamb back in the day. Its symbolic of Jesus' sacrifice. Like you I too was stirred by the picture and then the song became more powerful when I thought of Jesus the Lamb sacrificed for me
