This is a good way to start the running process where the athlete gets used to moving forward and thinking about the movements propelling them forward as 12 year old Kirstie is showing. Starting slow with lunge forward pause and then progressing through a couple steps to the culmination of the run. The idea is to not stretch the bands. There will always be tension on the bands but the idea is to have the athlete think more about the reaction of the hips by staying compact and focusing fast hip reaction while maintaining the strict position...learning how to use the hips to their advantage.
