We live on the Rappahannock and have a house facing east to the water (with a snake and a raccoon excluder). The birds arrived and set up housekeeping. The house sparrows came and attacked. They had the male down on the ground and were killing him. I shot my rifle over their heads. The bluebirds left and the sparrows stayed and laid 4 eggs. I stole the eggs, destroyed the nest and dispatched the sparrows. Blues are back and have 5 babies.

I have a one in my bird house with babies. The brightly colored one watches my every move and relocates when it knows I've seen it--is that the male? If so, he's doing all the work, it seems. Should I look for some mealworms to give them? As I said, He/she doesn't like that I live near that bird house; he/she is on to me, and nothing I say or do will disabuse it of that notion.

@Odhinn222 Sorry I had to replace the sound track. I need to add another video of their song. Sometimes I think bluebirds live near people for safety. We put the boxes near the house and try to protect them from sparrows.
