Showers of Blessings!

These photo essays are one of the assignments given in COM 411 Photojournalism, one of the classes offered in the Communication degree. Students get to practice skills of good photography and demonstrate different techniques of telling a story through pictures. There are several requirements you'll see in the photos such as a "long shot," "medium shot," "close-up," "lead photo," "portrait," "interaction of lead characters," and other key elements. Students also demonstrate their understanding of "the rule of thirds," "natural framing," "leading lines," and other artistic guidelines. The students were supposed to document an important event on or around campus. These stories give a glimpse of the life of BPC students and the things that are important to them. The class is taught by Dr. Don Wallace, who teaches most of the classes offered in the Communication degree. He is also an award-winning photographer and wedding photographer.
