Hello! Nice to meet you! I live in Sapporo, Japan... and as much as my wife loves practicing classical ballet, I love practicing my Tekken combos. Fair enough right?

Anyway, I joined a Tekken 6 BR (Bloodline Rebellion) tournament today (April 11, 2010) just for some fun and to see how well I would do. In all honesty, after watching some of the players practicing before the tournament started, I thought to myself that I would be happy if I won even 1 match...

I'll admit I'm not the best at Tekken... I'm getting too old to compete against the younger Japanese players as they slam back their "genki" (high-energy) drinks to heighten their reflexes in preparation for the upcoming fights. But my gaming hands can still hold their own and I ended up 3rd place overall in the tournament!

I don't mean to boast, as I have definitely had my share of losses in the past, but I just wanted to show that I'm not one of those kids who "think" they know how to play. More so, I would like to use my experience to help others (whether new or a veteran to Tekken) by sharing what I've learned so that they too can enjoy the game more... and, hopefully, learn something new myself! :)

Constructive criticism welcome... leave the trash talk, ignorant comments, and spam somewhere else. Please and thank you.

よろしくお願いします!(´・ω・`)ノ

Cheers!
Chris.

  • That last round...CAH-RAZY!!! Great job on the 3rd place finish Chris...

  • @Crease604 Thx for the comment! I was not about to let Strawberry Shortcake beat me! Joke! Actually, I had great respect for this player. He was good, but not cocky like most of the "kids" there... he didn't taunt me or continue beating on my King well after a round finished - the mark of an honorable winner... unlike the Devil Jin player in my other video who may have won the tournament in the end, I have much more respect for this Lili player.

  • Nice game. You have a decent king. :)

Watch triple h, Gato, Dr. King, Yamaking, Pow . They'll surely put more attacks in your arsenal.

    Keep practicing. :)

  • love the vid, love the annotations. that final round is the reason why tournament-level/ semi-pro players fear king. his advanced grapples are not easy to escape if you don't spend time learning how. i try to look at the animations sometimes to see if i need 1,2 or 1+2. you're very down to earth. thx.

  • what's a genki? so they really drink high-energy drinks before tournament fights???

  • @ChrisYuen1978 wow man you are awesome man and good player.....

  • Great game! Good job!
