Allen Carr explains his insight into smoking and effortles quitting.
Extracted and built from BBC Horizon "We Love Ciggarettes".

Hope this will help someone who can't afford his cliniques ( or whatever they're called).

As I understand at the moment , he basically says that quitting is easy. The "hard" part is the addiction pleading, pretending and trying to convince - "one "must" smoke, just one more puff, because its so hard". Its all in the mind.
* after upload I found others did exactly same vid... i'm leaving this vid because of its video quality.

Big Tobacco and Big Pharma are in bed together. Worse than 2 whores, making millions and enslaving people.

Thank God for people like Allen Carr.

It's all in your mind..The actual "Physical withdrawal" from nicotine is just a barely perceptible feeling of "I wan't a cigarette" everything else is just result of the mental tug of war between...I want a cigarette / I am not allowed to have one. What the 'Easy way" does is help you understand that Cigarettes don't actually do any of the things you think they do - other than relieve the withdrawal caused by the last cigarette. It can be really easy to quit if you'er in the right frame of mind

Ivan, perhaps you didn't read Carr's book, otherwise you would understand that his methid is relying exactly on the reversal of what you say here. He proves addiction is nothing more than a little shit and that, once you understand that, all you have to do is to return to the normal state of not smoking. We modified our behaviours just to be able to administrate the drug, but after eliminating it from our body you will not need to go out in the winter once in a while for few minutes.

It's true what he's saying, its all a mental thing and once you figure it out it makes stopping easy. I also read his controlling alcohol book and it is the same method and has some interesting ideas about addiction. Now I am clean living and am happy with myself, why go through life poisoning yourself? It only makes life miserable.

No, Ivan, Carr did not underestimate addiction to nicotine. He understood it better than anybody, and helped millions to overcome that addiction. You don't need to modify your behavior in order to stop smoking. You just have to be free from the fear of living without nicotine. Allen Carr's Easyway helps you to remove that fear.

The third myth is not acquire. Many addict will need more that" just say no". Addiction is serious business and any avenue that help you to quit is a good avenue. Allen Carr, obviously underestimate the addiction disease. However I am agree that quit is not that hard, what is hard is to modify our behavior that is intrinsically linking to the addiction.
