Good old days? You're young! I remember when the standard was 1200 baud. I was one of the first to get the "new" 2400 baud modems and I thought I was "cooking with gas now!". Crazy fast (for the time)....LOL

I'm 14, almost 15, and we didn't have dial-up when I was younger, but I love to learn about old computer material. Dial-up, VGA, IPX, DOS, even sound cards and MIDI!

I used to connect to a Viewdata BBS on a 300 baud modem connected to my Amiga 1200. The BBS itself was running on a BBC Master on the other side of town in some bloke's back bedroom, connected to a second phone line through a 1275 modem. 1200 down, 75 baud up. You could watch the page download over several seconds.Halcyon days...

omg what if the reason why nobody uses dialup anymore is because of the old ladies who died meaning we couldn't connect with dialup

That's been true for me lately because I've been having router problems, I have to reset it 2-3 times a day because it keeps freezing up. I guess it's time for a new one.
