Hello people, I am in a pipe band at the moment in Argyll and I play the Scottish highland snare drum. I've always liked the look of the small pipes- how hard are they?? Is it easier than the bagpipes? How long has it took you? Any info wouldn't gratefully received!

One of the best technique I have seen

@metlguy69 Dunfion chanter and Drones. Ballantyne bag.

the first ones the kesh jig, obviously you cant play the whole second part, when the uilleann pipers play it it goes right to the top of the scale. sounds good on them though great set

@johnnyhorton2 The fingering is the same, but the sound holes are a lot smaller, making them considerably quieter. You can also get chanters in the key of D.

@Metallicazack I think more companies are offering mouth blown small pipes, particular polypenco ones as a more affordable option.
These things cost over a thousand us dollars, how can you not know what kind they are?
