  • It's an apparatus called a Craig Tube that's used for microscale recrystallization in chemistry. This is to purify solid compounds. After recrystallization is done, the crystals in mother liquor are at the top of the tube and when centrifuging, the mother liquor passes down through a filter, leaving solid crystals at the top. It is easy and convenient and helps prevent loss of crystals through transferring.
