I don't understand why you therefore felt the need to comment on a topic in which you admit you don't know anything about -- and in doing so gave credit to England for developing Bossa Nova. Also, I'm sorry if my use of the English language also went over your head, but I was using the word "conspiracy" in its figurative, and not its literal sense.

@makanmata forgive me that I do not meet your standards of musical expertise (s) but I don't intent to justify why I commented, in earnest, about the music which I enjoyed growing up and still enjoy immensely. I don't live in S.America or England, yet I can certainly appreciate the musical genuises from BOTH countries. @MsJollycholly What a truly uninformed and provincial comment. You are confusing later Tropicalismo with Bossa Nova. Bossa was developed within 1 sq. km of the center of Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. Listening to masterworks like this, one wonders how much culturally richer the world would be today had the dictatorship and English teenie-bopper music not conspired to prevent Bossa -- and not the Beatles (the Bieber of the 60s) and such -- from becoming the dominant cultural force in the world.
