  • Damn these guys were amazing. I still have Bellybutton and Split Milk....I was SO looking forward to a third album

  • Best band of our generation period! I would be so discouraged and depressed if I were Andy, Roger, Jason, Eric, Chris, Tim, any of the band members, why? It must suck to write masterpieces that go completely unknown to the masses! Talk about frustration? I'm thankful I get it and have since they came out! I love all the rare watchin the rain, think about your troubles, worthless heart etc...timeless masterpieces that may never be found by the masses! Guess that's what happened to Beethoven?

  • loved this tape, wore it out twice have to go get it on cd, thanks for the music :)

  • Radio in the Uk played every track released from Bellybutton and two from Spilt Milk. 6 in a row.

  • AV Club sent me here

  • @Boozie65 ...I agree. Jellyfish was one of those bands Todd Rungren was referring to when he said: "The problem with being on the cutting edge is that some are so out front they take arrows in the back" Jellyfish are the Beatles undiscovered.

  • Boozie65.....I could not have said it better myself. It is absoulute heart break for the band as well as their loyal fans that This music came and went unappreciated

You rarely find that kind of genius in song writing. especialy for the time, late 90's

Another young band who played heavily on jellyfish's influence called Zuckerbaby

suffered a similar fate........Still my favorite band of all time!

  • What killed the band, was the popularity of grunge. Pretty depressing.

  • All of my friends back then had bought the tape... or album. They were great but no radio play and the freaking Greatful Dead was coming back and the hippie thing was crazy popular around the colleges. Glam rock was coming to an end thank god and Nirvana and grunge took over the world. I still think that if they came back today and wrote the same type of smart, jazzy, pop music that they would sell a ton of music and fill stadiums. The masses are just stupid.

  • What killed them was lack of radio play and there's a valid reason: what format did they fit? Not really rock, not really pop, not really alternative, not soft rock, not really oldies. See what I mean. Who was going to play this song? Ugly spineless coke snorting radio disc jockeys? In my town which has an above average rock station and an established alternative scene the only song ever played from Jellyfish was "That is Why".

  • Great band been listening since high school in the 80's but their late 60's-70's look killed them. Great music but there presence sucks. They come off as weirdo's instead of great musicians.

  • Def...more tambourine!
