Man why the hell would anyone want to steal this kid from his father? I would follow my father to the depts of hell. I dont want some strangers stealing me as a young kid from my parents CMON NOW. WOULD YOU LIKE SOME STRANGER TO STEAL YOUR BABY FROM THE HOSPITAL? WOULD YOU FORGIVE THEM? WOULD YOU LET THEM KEEP HIM. I don't think so.

i had to research about elian gonzalez and i didnt know the full story and now that i do i feel terribly bad for him and his family and i do want to learn more about this situation becuase its very messed up! the people who did this to the little boy should be ashamed becuase his family were only trying to help him!

When I see that single cop, pointing a machine gun at the head of an innocent 5 year old child, finger on the trigger, ready to blast away. I wonder, what were they gonna do if the kid "resisted"? Shoot him??? I mean, they had guns drawn & pointed for a reason. (we all know how dangerously violent an unarmed 5yo child can be)
Also, what if by mistake the kid was shot? What if, God-forbid, those cops accidentally killed that kid & or family members? What would the repercussions have been?

First of all, hes not pointing the gun at the kids head. The 2D picture makes it look that way to the ignorant mind. But if you see more clearly, the gun was pointed off to the side. Secondly, his finger is not on the trigger ready to shoot, he is following proper firearm proceedure. Thirdly, this kid is the son of his father. The other family relatives are not his parents. No one has the right to tell a parent where their kids belong. Even if its the USA.  Also we have enough Cubans.
