I never knew Makana either - and I'm about to be a fan. Gonna look for him on iTunes. I was introduced b/c of the Occupy with Aloha at the Pacific Leadership Summit that was in the news.

Simply brilliant! The combo of slack key guitar and soaring voice ... goose bumps ... oops .. chicken skin!! I wish he and Ry Cooder and others would get back together and do a follow-up to that quite incredible Cooder album "Chicken Skin Music" ... long overdue. Had the great pleasure of witnessing a concert on Maui by Gaby Pahanui's son several years ago. His eyes lit up when i mentioned the album!
