I'm going to be painting a series of Gypsy Vanner Horses this year and here is the first one! This is the first time I have painted a palomino and it was a lot of fun. I especially liked the challenge of applying the multiple layers to achieve the hair and the softness in the eyes. Prints of this painting are currently for sale in my ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Roby-Baers-Fine-Art-And-Prints

  • @blueroans4567 Hello! I'm using CarbOthello pastel pencils and I get them at Dick Blick on-line. :) Roby

  • What kind of colored pencils do you use?

  • @theeachuisge Hello! I'm using Strathmore Illustration or Bristol Board 500 series cold press Vellum. It is 100% cotton and it has the same texture on both sides so you can use either side. I get the 10 ply by the large sheet and cut it down to match the project I'm working on. I get it a Dick Blick on-line. :)) Roby

  • do you use the textured side or the smooth?
