Such a shame that Marty never recorded this great old cowboy song. He sang it in his 'Drifter' TV series and he obviously got such a kick out of singing this song as he did with all western songs. Then again, you could say the same about most songs he ever sang.

  • @rockabilly1138

It's actually Marty's song 'Saddle Tramp' with words revised for his 'Drifter' television series.

  • love this song.. love when my grandpapa sings it when we r herding our cattle here in texas =]

  • Living in London , I don't get much chance to herd cattle, but I love the song also! More's the pity Marty never actually recorded the song.

  • Domo old cowboy from Far east from an old cowboy from London! I wish he had sung the whole of the song.

  • A doggie is an orphaned calf. That's why in the chorus of the song you hear, " it's your misfortune and none of my own."

  • I am a complete and total goth. And I love this song. Lol.

  • My mother used to sing this to me as a lullaby. Brings back sweet, safe memories.

  • @i2dful Cows.
