  • Mmmmm....Les Pauls just don't seem proper here....

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE Right on that one.

  • Poor Jan... I was looking for a vid that had some of him performing after his crash... I noticed he really wasn't doing much here aside from bumping into people, not even singing... really sad that one of the best minds in producing was reduced to that.

  • Actually, Jan did more than you see in this video. This particular song features Papa Doo Run Run. I'll try to put one up featuring Jan. 15 years after his accident, Jan still had good days and bad, but he was always there, would never give up, and always gave it everything he had. You won't find many artists today with that kind of courage and strength. - Don Z - PDRR

  • bet jan wished he joined the army and slowed down instead. i have the original photo of jans accident i cant believe anyone servived this crash.

  • Glad you watched the movie. It's amazing that he wasn't worse off than he was after that crash.

  • @papadoorunrun Couldn't find "DMC" on Netflix, but just queued up "One Last Ride". Were you boys associated with that movie as well?

  • @papadoorunrun Donnie, you'd know; you worked along side him for so long. I am sure you were witness to all the ups and downs. I think I saw this lineup around the era of this shooting. (Alameda County Fair) My lack of maturity at that time caused me to look at Jan as just a distraction on stage. I would later come to appreciate what you have written above.

Saw you boys (PDRR) January in Modesto. Still luv ya as much as the first time in high school in '76!

  • @papadoorunrun As a person born with disability Jan is one of 6 people who truly inspired / inspires me. He was amazeing BEFORE then accident and just as amazeing after. Not everyone who is born healthy and THEN gets disabled has the determanation, strenght, and guts to do thier very best with thier limitations. And he did get to where he could sing and walk on stage, he showed THEM. You dont have to be PERFACT to do your very very best . And that s more then good enough. RIP my sweet Jan.

  • We saw them during this tour! They were at Disneyland. We followed papadoorunrun for quite a while after that.

  • @LadyKatherine1960 He was a great performer. I saw them in concert many times. It was amazing how a large number of people were dancing in their wheelchairs to the music! I had never seen anything like that before and it was fantastic. In spite of his injuries, he put on an awesome show and people appreciated it.

  • @spraymalathionjerry I never had a brain injury but I was born with 2 differant disabilities so YES Jan iwas and is one of the inspiteing people God sent my way. I love him before and after the car accident. When you have a disavility iit takes a LOT not to crawl in a conner and give up or worse not try. Jan beat the odds in so many ways even with limitations you CAN reach goals and and however big or small have victory. May he be with God and the angels. Rock on Dean. RIP Jan.
