Catherine Latapie was the first person to be miraculously cured at Lourdes. She was healed of paralysis in 1858. And on the same day she was cured, she gave birth to a boy who later became a priest.

Her spectacular cure was a test case that started an era of reported miracles thats lasted ever since. These claims have increased over the years, and led to the setting up of a Medical Bureau at the Marian shrine in 1905. The office studies cases of those who claim to have been miraculously cured.

  • "I don't know how ... such evidence can be denied..."

Er, what evidence? The evidence of the video is that despite the fact that In the last 50 years over 100 million people have passed through Lourdes in the hope of something miraculous happening, not a single one of the 500 cases they have actually investigated has been proved. Not a single one.

  • Search: Magical thinking, - placebo effect, - televangelist healers...

That should get you started on the right track....

Ron

  • In Lourdes gebeuren dagelijks wonderen! Maar eenieder die hier heen gaat verwacht niet een wonder of genezing! Je bent kort bij maria gezamelijk met duizenden andere. Was de wereld maar zoals binnen de heiligdommen, dan was de vrede van Christus echt! Geweldig! Ron

  • @acadamenorth Yes, its obvious. I tried, Fuk me right? hundreds? barely. there's a difference between evidence and proof. I don't do my best to try to make you think otherwise, but I do try, please don't make it sound like such a bad thing because through my eyes I'm doing right trying to make you let go of this belief because Independence if worth a lot to me, so is my IQ.

  • @Muusicca If you're so annoyed it's your own fault. You expect to tell us that this is bogus and have us not fight back? Besides, what are you even doing here when you don't believe in this? Let me get this straight, you go to videos you don't believe in, start fights, and then complain that we're giving it all we've got? Someone would have to be mad to have this logic.

  • Anyone who thinks that it's only a miracle if it goes through that whole process and can't be disproven is crazy!

  • @terryooooooo *sigh*...

  • @Muusicca to my knowledge there is no wax mask for Bernadette, when they found her they did things like shine her nails and change her clothing for adequate presentation. Is it just a coincidence that similar miraculous events have occurred surrounding Saint John Vianney and many other saints? for these to be recognized as miracles in the church their bodies were analyzed by secular biologists who could not explain this phenomenon.

  • @acadamenorth i looked into it, cool stuff, but i'll find its faults...the 'mummy' which is actually in the chapel of the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Nevers,in France has her nails polished....unless 122 years ago, not 200 ,nail polishing was a popular thing, they've done some adjustments to her body, many actually, setting aside the fact she is air tight. her face is a waxed mask. what the original corpse actually looked like when found is only described unfortunately.
