@StarQualityWins Of course a tyrant would take over. Look at the anarchy. They should of enacted ancient roman laws to fight military dictatorship. Civic virtue was at an all time low.

Most exaggerations came from his way of describing events, manipulating until they're perceived in a precisely put way. Flippant, demanding, and enforcing tones combined with the romantic emphasis of the French language. He was a liar and he had charisma. He enforced his will while appealing to the heart. He was a Tyrant controlling perception.

No one questions the intelligence of a movement that replaces religious symbols in the church with images of Marat? A man so horrible that a French citizen, a woman, takes it upon herself to kill him for peace? Such dysfuctional fanaticism could only be the work of a dictator.
