One of god Shiva's attributes is trident, his body is adorned with snakes, and hips are adorned with tiger's and elephant's skin.
He is said to have burned with his third eye the god of love Manmatha, and having crushed under feet the malignant dwarf of ignorance. He is believed to show compassion for his devotees, and to free from the ocean of samsara - the cycle of birth, life, old age and death,and again new birth. It is said that gods Vishnu and Brahma could not find his beginning or ending, as Shiva is the ruler of three worlds, being present in five elements, that is sky, wind, water, fire, earth. For his devotees he gives happiness, and rebirths endlessly.
