The title says it all!

If you have axis pedals, I recommend buying these suckers for live and studio sessions. They are wonderful. They have clear, smooth hits and sound. You can easily adjust the copper hammer to exactly where you want it.

I'm using an Alesis DM5 Drum Module (I ordered that and the triggers from Sam Ash Music (da best!)) and I'm using the setting #08 called SpeedMt1 (Speed Metal 1). It has a really nice high end click, perfect for metal. I think it's the same setting Inferno (Behemoth) uses. When you have the trigger set up, run an ordinary guitar cable (quarter inch) from the trigger jack into the "kick" part of the module (mine is labeled #2 - Kick). After that, run a similar quarter inch cable from the MAIN Output jack (I usually use the LEFT Output) into any amp (I'm using a Peavy Amp (solid state) with a Sonic Maximizer (If you're a guitar player, I highly suggest you get one of these to make your tone sound GODLIKE). Turn 'em on, crank the volume, and have fun :)

This is just a test video with 1 Axis A Longboard pedal. This is not my best playing. I was just messing around with these to see how they felt.

  • what camera do

    you use?

  • I'm using a Sony Cybershot 8.1 MPx here, I forget the model name though...I think it's the DSC-W90 or something like that...it has a slide cover in the front

  • this is pretty nice, but i can get the exact sound or even better without triggers. all you need is some EQing and you have it, but thanks for this vid, might help me if I do get triggers.

  • I mean I get that you can do a lot of EQing, but triggers save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you have a shitty sound guy. The trigger gives one specific sound that can only be changed from the trigger module. I think they serve as a great live tool which is basically what I'm using them for.

  • Sounds descent. Was I hearing it mis trigger. Aren't the ekits supposed to eliminate that. Or I guess thats what setting the hammer is for?? and also. I think inferno has a custom kick drum sound.cause you can edit them. But ya. The speed metal is what a metal drummers use lol

  • Hey very cool... I just bought some axis pedals but I'm using a hoop trigger now... would like to move to ekits but can't find where to buy them... where did you get yours?

Also, I have an Alesis Dm5 mod like you, and I really like that sound you have for the kick.. do you know the name of the sampled sound your using?

    Awesome vid

  • @UKrocketeer guitar amp or not, it sounds pretty much the same

  • @Dr8co1 it sounds bad because of the camera, and he is using a guitar amp, if you recorded with it, it would sound much better

  • @UKrocketeer i know even my favorite bands use triggers, but that's what makes me like their older music better cuz it doesn't sound like the bass drum is fake

  • @Dr8co1 black metal isnt the only genre that uses triggers dude

  • @bubbakiller use a PA guitar amps are no good

  • @UKrocketeer i don't listen to black metal

  • @Dr8co1 well obviously you havent taken the time to research and learn what proffesional drummers use triggers for

  • @Dr8co1 about how when you use triggers, you dont need power, you just need that pin to trigger the detenator. or something like that! and micing the set you actually need power to hear it come threw the speakers
