The Ig Nobel Tour of the UK was sponsored by the British Science Association as part of the National Science and Engineering Week, March 6-15, 2009.
The show featured Marc Abrahams, organizer of the Ig Nobel Prizes and Guardian columnist, together with a gaggle of Ig Nobel Prize winners and other improbable researchers. Marc reviews the past years improbable research and Ig Nobel Prize winners. Several Ig winners (and/or colleagues) try to explain what they did and why they did it, and will field questions.

@SinnFein4ever I disagree. These scientists aren't idiotic, they're just silly. One of them (an ig nobel winner for making ducks levitate) won the NOBEL PRIZE for doing exactly the kinds of crazy things ig nobel winners win for (he was applying duct tape to pencil lead). And who says something weird is something "stupid"? I mean, saying that is like calling all the people who put on the igs stupid. Sorry, did I rant? I think I ranted. tl;dr. Heh.

I don't like the way that they've became sort-of politically correct, and gone to "These awards are for things that first make people laugh, and then make them think", from
"These awards are for idiotic scientists who do stupid, pointless experiments. Sort-of the scentific equivalent of the Rasberry Awards (which are awarded for really bad movies)"

Loved Paul Krugman's nanosecond 7 word explaination of economics. "Greedy people make the world go round."
That's when the little girl in the audience should've shouted "Please Stop, I'm Bored."
(that's considered common knowledge)
