Our Shell dwelling cichlid fish, from Lake Tangayika, Africa (well, only the oldest were from Africa, the rest were captive born right there in our tank.)
they like hard water, seem to like the Phoenix tap water, untreated. As long as they have hard water and plenty of shells to set up house in, they will breed without any real effort. (We bought esargot shells at CostPlus) They are Lamprologus multifasciatus. Don't worry about asking too many questions. Questions are good. :)
A local fish & reptile store. There were originally 4 or 5 wild caught then there were a posse of F1's, then F2's and we lost track. They are very prolific if conditions are right. We are in the Phoenix Arizona area. Unfortunately, we haven't seen any others like these since then.
