Happy Oscar Weekend. Can't wait to see who wins the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short this year!

They may wear jumpsuits with skull logos on them, and they may carry assault rifles, but really they're ordinary guys just like you and me — concerned about health insurance, pension plans, and making it through the workday without being shot, blown up, and/or karate-chopped by smug, oversexed Englishmen. Expendable is their story.

Expendable is a film by David Malki ! and Todd Croak-Falen, set in the action-packed world of super-spies. Expendable offers a look at this world from the perspective of the mega-villain's low-level, anonymous henchmen: mostly decent, hard-working folk whose only job is to wait around for spies and shoot at them when they appear.

  • The dislikes must've been from Film Festival competitors...

  • @montagfire I've heard many people of many different backgrounds say that they dislike the british accent as a whole. In it's many variations it goes from an arrogant and posh sounding way of speaking to a slummy and grungy tone.

the rhythmic clip is nice though.

  • Fine piece of work.

  • Super.

  • well done. you managed to save yourself well. but looks like i have egg on my face now.

To paraphrase a very famous and well respected american comedy character.

    DOH!

  • @montagfire - I think you were assuming I was American (it's the only way your insulting tone starts to make sense), but I think my comment made it clear I am in fact British.

However it has also highlighted my comment from last year was phrased badly, so let me clarify. I find the ATTEMPT AT DOING a British accent quite poor and somewhat painful at the end - a GOOD British accent would of made the spy character work, and stop him sticking out as the only part with an ameteurish feel to it.

  • Oh and I was having such a nice day..

the problem with american accents? Smugness, add on no sense of comic timing and no sense of irony and you have most American comedies.

I don't count 'curb' - that IS genius.

That's how i feel now after that remark.

Oh and may I remind you we are forced to hear your accent everywhere everyday, the only reason you don't like the Brit one is because of your insular way of living, travel more.
