RFE/RL broadcasts news programs in 28 languages to 20 countries that are struggling for a free press.

Wonder what all these languages sound like? Here's your chance to find out:

We asked our colleagues to translate a sentence from an old RFE/RL leaflet into all 28 of our current broadcast languages.

The leaflet was part of a campaign in the early 1950s, when RFE used balloons to float millions of them over the Iron Curtain. The leaflets contained news, criticism and satire of the Communist regimes as well as inspirational messages of solidarity from the Western world.

(No worries, we'll give you the English translation at the end.)
