Shawn Boyd reports that an FBI source told her that the detonator on the bomb found in the kitchen was too sophisticated for the two teen suspects to have made themselves.
how could you say that anyway? just because this is sophisticated doesnt mean crap.... they could easyily buy anything they needed over the internet or through people they know that the police have never found out about.... and they could easyily of obtained the knowledge to do it in the exact same way....
The reason the bombs failed is because they were too sophisticated for Eric or Dylan to make. Eric made the pipe bombs and attempted to use knowledge he gained from the Anarchist's Cookbook, which would later prove useless.
if you watch the tapes of eric and dylan u can see the older girl who bought them the guns and another guy shooting the trees wonder if they were involved they must have atleast said something, just a guess but i think they had help and the others backed off.
@monst3rul3s : yeah, you're right now that i think of it. this was still pre-9/11, Oaklahoma city was fresh in everyones minds and I remember what a stink people were raising about fretilizer at the time now. There was even a huge story about some chemist trying to find a way to make fertilizer that disolved if it came in contact with gas. people were paranoid about the stuff, I just forgot.
Well, the fertilizer that McVeigh used was ammonium nitrate, and I'm sure that after the bombing, it would be suspicious-- especially for young kids to go in and buy any quantity of it. Also, ANFO generally uses blasting caps to detonate, and obtaining propane tanks and making pipe bombs with timing devices, in my opinion, would be a lot easier, and could be smuggled into a school with a duffel bag without the smell of diesel wafting out. But I do see your point in explosive the might prefer ...
No you fuckers. They made it. They're in high school, but it's obvious they weren't stupid.
