Here's a comparison of Billy Hamilton's and Tony Campana's inside the park home runs. Billy Hamilton finishes a step ahead of Campana, although both turn the jets off a step or two before home plate.

Campana slows down at the end. Either way who really cares anyway. Looking at Hamilton's stats and having seen Campana play neither bring a lot to the table other than speed. Campana can't hit well and Hamilton is an error machine.

Looks like Hamilton slows down going into second and then speeds back up when he realizes that the CF misplayed the ball... and he still beats Campana who was running at full speed on that play.
