This song was written by Ken Tobias from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Hit # 1 on the charts in Canada and # 7 in USA. Sold over 4 million copies.

Jacki is still active in music and fund raising for the Canadian Cancer Society

Until I find the right images to go with the music, I'm going to cheat, and use photos of people who are unaware that the whole world can see them at 17 & 18! I remember that all the class photos were shot in the back room of the school library by the same photographer, in one or two days. Driftwood seems popular for those guys without ties. I also remember having one taken with my letterman's jacket on... that would have been cool. The yearbook covers at the end have the name of the school blocked out, but show the style.

I just can't believe my tie was that big! At least purple shirts with white ties were "out" by this time. I am the first guy shown. I'm also wondering what happened to that hair? Well, I wish that I knew what i know now....when I was younger!

I was putting washing on the line and singing this song from 40 years ago. Looked on you tube and saw your post. I am in Australia but the kids in your yearbook could have been my friends, they look so much alike. Funny how songs bring back memories! This was 'our song' for my first love and I in our teens. @ycanada No, I think that for most, the best moments are after high school - they have been for me at least. Yes, I'd love to have my hair back and yes, I wish my body was in the same shape it was in 1976, but there are more than enough experiences to make up for it.

Thanks for posting this. I was class of '76 TPHS in 29 Palms California. Its amazing how so many of your classmates could pass for mine. We are all more alike than we want to admit. Beautiful job.

This is a actually sad song...it sounds as if a beautiful love that never became and both girl and boy went different ways for no reason at all. Someday, they marry but are unhappy, only to wonder as to where each one are went.

This is one of those songs that we listened to on our little AM radios in the early 70's. It was a great tune back then. But to hear it in stereo, HQ audio, makes it that much better!
