  • It's hard to say. I would definitely check underneath the car to see what's there. You should have two cats in the front, a resonator in the middle, and then two separate mufflers in the back. By looking at them you should be able to tell if they are stock or aftermarket. If you're not sure, take some pictures and email it to me, I am pretty familiar with the X5 exhaust.

  • Nice and quiet below 2500 rpm

  • So I've been having trouble coming up with a cheap solution to my x5 exhaust improvement. Anyway, I have the same car. Just wanted to ask and be sure that all you did was remove the black collected muffler looking resonators in the back? Did you do anything else? Does it idle consistently or go up and down? Any and all info about this set up would be awesome. So glad I found your post

  • Yes, I only removed both mufflers right behind the rear bumper. The 2 stock OEM cats are still there, and the stock resonator too. All I did was removing the mufflers and replacing them by two straight pipe with chrome tips. I haven't noticed any change at all. The car drive perfectly same as before, idle perfect and goes up and down fine. I just come back from a 3000 miles road trip. The only issue I had was the fuel pump lol, but it has nothing to do with the exhaust.

  • I do have some pictures I took at the mechanics when the pipe were installed on the car. Let me know if you want to see them, It might help i don't know. If you are looking for a cheap exhaust mod with a nice V8 tone, I would suggest you go for it. You will have a nice and quiet sound below 2500 rpm, but anything above 3500 rpm will sound like a racing car

  • He might, but I am not 100% sure since it was custom and not sold as a kit. Check at brodysmufflers
